MunOS — Model UN Committee Management Software
MunOS is free, web-based software for running
Model UN (Model United Nations) committees from the dais. It replaces the
usual patchwork of spreadsheets, standalone timers, and manual notetaking with one
centralized dashboard. Chairs and assistant directors can manage speaker's lists, run
caucuses and timers, propose and pass motions, handle resolutions and amendments, and
automatically log every action for fairness and transparency.
There is no account to create — a committee is identified by a committee code
and protected by a password, so multiple chairs and ADs can log in from any
device and pick up exactly where they left off. Try it at
munos.vercel.app.
Key features
- Customizability — branding, themes, caucus types, motion lists, and app behavior can all be changed; custom feature requests are turned around within a week.
- Persistent committees — delegates, speaker's lists, uploaded files, and logs are saved between sessions and accessible from any device with the committee code and password.
- Automatic activity logging — per-delegate speaking time, allocated time, speech count, and motions proposed are tracked automatically, with a full sortable event log of who spoke and which motions passed.
- Resolution & working paper workflow — introduce, present, run Q&A, amend, and vote in one place; uploaded PDFs and links are displayed on screen as QR codes.
- More caucus types — round robin, gentleman's unmoderated, consultation of the whole, plus persistent general and secondary speaker's lists (GSL and SSL) that save automatically.
- Additional motions & quality of life — extend or end moderated and unmoderated caucuses, resume debate, set agenda, an editable break page, and a streamlined sidebar.
Security
- Committee passwords are hashed and salted before storage; plain-text passwords are never written to the database.
- Rate limiting on committee creation and resolution uploads.
- Optional login-location verification and local-network hosting available on request for conferences that need them.
MunOS as an alternative to other Model UN software
If you are comparing Model UN management tools such as MUNCommand,
Delegate's Companion, MyMUN, or MUNbase,
MunOS is built specifically for the chair running committee in real time. It combines
persistent committees, automatic per-delegate logging, a complete resolution and amendment
workflow, extra caucus formats, and deep customization in a single free tool — with nothing
to install and no account to set up. Conferences that need bespoke procedure can request
custom changes, which are typically implemented within a week.
